Free swimming lessons for disabled people
Sevenoaks District Council is providing free swimming lessons for people with physical or learning disabilities.
The 12-week course is taking place at White Oak Leisure Centre in Swanley on Tuesdays from 10 July 2023.
Sessions will run for people aged four to 15 years old and for 16 year olds and above.

Cllr Lesley Dyball, the Council’s Cabinet Member for People and Places says: “We’re really excited to be able to provide free swimming lessons for our disabled residents. The lessons will help with confidence in the water and promise to be fun and sociable.
“Spaces are limited so I would urge anyone who is interested to sign up as soon as possible.”
Hasan Romel, area contract manager at Everyone Active, adds: “Inclusivity is one of Everyone Active’s core values, so we’re delighted to welcome members with physical or learning disabilities into White Oak Leisure Centre, to make use of the swimming facilities free of charge.
“We are focused on breaking down barriers in physical activity and making a real difference to support people with disabilities, so this activity is another step forward in delivering this within our local community.
“We’ll also be using the opportunity to further educate our colleagues and ensure our sites are inclusive and accessible for all disabled people.”
